2 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10 Freeway in El Monte
EL MONTE, Calif. (Nov. 18, 2019) – Rachel Delara, 51, and motorcycle rider, Anthony Sierra, 25, both residents of Covina, died Sunday morning in a multi-vehicle collision on the Interstate 10 Freeway in El Monte.
The crash, which was reported at 5:20 a.m., occurred after Delara’s 2003 Acura crashed into the concrete divider on the freeway and became disabled in between the fast lane and the carpool lanes near Valley Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
An oncoming Ford slammed into the Acura and the 2013 Harley Davidson driven by Sierra crashed into the Ford. Police say that three other vehicles also struck the Acura.
Paramedics responded and three people were treated for minor injuries at the scene, but both Delara and Sierra died of their injuries.
Police are investigating the crash to determine fault. Witnesses are urged to call the CHP East Los Angeles office at 323-343-0512.
