Double Fatality in Crash at Las Posas Road and Laguna Road
CAMARILLO, Calif. (July 12, 2019) — Two people died and three others suffered minor injuries in a collision Thursday night in the Oxnard Plains near Camarillo, just northwest of Point Mugu State Park.
Two people were killed in the crash reported at 7:50 p.m. at Las Posas Road and Laguna Road, the Ventura County Fire Department reported.
Anthony Zaragosa, 21, of Oxnard, was one of three people riding in a black Dodge Challenger traveling eastbound on Laguna Road. Police say the Dodge didn’t stop for a stop sign and crashed into a 2009 Honda that was heading north on Las Posas Road. The Honda ended up overturned in a ditch and both occupants died in the crash. They have not yet been identified.
Zaragosa, and Juan Llamos, 23, of Oxnard, who was also riding in the Dodge, were both taken to Los Robles Hospital with minor injuries. The third occupant declined medical treatment. It’s unknown at this time who was driving the Dodge.
The crash remains under investigation to determine liability.
