Pursuit Ends in Injury Collision at Laurel Road and Hillcrest Avenue Tuesday
Antioch, CA (March 1, 2022) – A 58-year-old man suffered injuries following a car crash that occurred in the area of Laurel Road and Hillcrest Avenue.
The Mercury News reported Antioch police said officers attempted to pull over a motorist at Shell, 4198 Lone Tree Way early Tuesday. However, the driver failed to yield and fled at a high rate of speed. Officers then launched a pursuit on the suspect.
According to the article published online, the two-mile pursuit came to an end when the pursued vehicle collided with another car. The collision took place around 12:25 a.m. at the intersection of Laurel Road and Hillcrest Avenue.
Innocent Driver Hospitalized After Car Accident in Antioch, March 1
Responding medical personnel rendered aid to all possible victims in the accident. Paramedics mentioned they transported the innocent driver, a 58-year-old Sacramento man, to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, the pursued driver and a 22-year-old passenger in the suspect vehicle both sustained minor to major injuries. Authorities allowed the suspects to be treated before booking them into Santa Clara County jail. Both the driver and passenger face several charges including armed robbery; carjacking; and conspiracy.
The California Highway Patrol is the agency handling the investigation. At this time, detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the car crash at Laurel Road and Hillcrest Avenue in Antioch.
