Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash
Antioch, CA (October 12, 2022) – A 50-year-old woman suffered fatal injuries following a suspected hit-and-run collision that occurred in the area of Contra Loma Boulevard and Buchanan Road.
The East County Today News reported the female pedestrian was crossing the intersection in a westerly direction. Our sources indicated the crash happened when a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed failed to slow down as it approached the crosswalk. The car struck the woman crossing the street.
Officials mentioned the horrible crash took place Tuesday shortly after 11:05 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the pedestrian suffering in serious injuries. Responding paramedics immediately began life-saving measures with the assistance of other Emergency Medical Services. Sadly, the woman succumbed to her trauma and passed away at the scene. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
According to the article published online, the driver fled the scene after hitting the victim. No immediate information was available on the driver involved in the deadly incident.
Detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the fatal hit-and-run crash at Contra Loma Boulevard and Buchanan Road.
