1 Killed, 2 Critically Injured in Antioch Crash at State Route 4 and Lone Tree Way
ANTIOCH, CA (March 18, 2023) – A car crash killed one person and critically injured two others at State Route 4 and Lone Tree Way in Antioch.
According to the East Bay Times and NBC Bay Area, the tragic accident took place late Friday night. Officers reported the wreck on March 17 at around 10:18 p.m.
The incident happened when a pickup truck was going south on Lone Tree Way, approaching State Route 4, in Antioch. At the same time, another pickup was exiting eastbound Highway 4.
2 Cars Collide
Police said the second car then made a turn north on Lone Tree. In the process, the southbound pickup collided with the other vehicle at the intersection.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the male driver of one car dead at the scene. His two passengers sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed them to a hospital and listed them in critical condition. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of State Route 4 and Lone Tree Way to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Antioch crash is still under investigation.
