Passenger Killed in Car Accident Near Highway 160
Antioch, CA (May 9, 2022) – One person died, and several others suffered injuries following a suspected DUI collision that occurred on State Route Highway 4.
The Patch News published an article online reported a blue Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling on the highway late Sunday evening. Due to the alleged intoxication of the driver, the car veered off the roadway and rolled over on SR-4 near Highway 160.
Shortly after 11:50 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the site. Responding paramedics found as many as five people inside the mangled Chrysler.
Medical personnel rushed the front passenger to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Sadly, the 21-year-old man succumbed to his trauma and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
4 Injured in Antioch DUI Crash on Highway 4
Authorities added the 42-year-old female driver; and three other passengers riding in the back seat of the car all sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. Officials mentioned two of the victims were minors. Personal information on the injured parties have not been revealed thus far.
Investigators mentioned the woman behind the wheel of the blue Chrysler PT Cruiser showed signs of intoxication. Police then arrested the suspect for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Detectives continue to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly accident on Highway 4 in Antioch.
