PLEASANT HILL, California — According to an article by San Francisco CBS, 19-year-old Dyshon Douglas died after being struck by multiple vehicles on Interstate 680 freeway near Monument Boulevard early Saturday morning.
Officials said the pedestrian was first hit by a white Acura Integra on the northbound lanes of the freeway around 4:40 a.m. on March 25.
Douglas was not able to recover from the initial impact and was subsequently struck by an Audi SUV driven by a 29-year-old Oakley man, and a Toyota Corolla driven by a 22-year-old Concord woman. The incident caused fatal injuries to Douglas who was pronounced dead before being taken to a hospital.
Shortly after the accident, officers affirmed the first vehicle which struck the man has left before authorities arrived at the scene. Meanwhile, the drivers of the other two autos stopped and gave their respective statements.
A search operation was launched to find the hit-and-run suspect.
This accident was the second among the two deadly crashes on Interstate 680 freeway in the early morning of March 25, Saturday. The first fatal collision happened near Stoneridge Drive.
