Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Antioch Hit-and-Run on Eastbound Highway 4
ANTIOCH (September 16, 2019) – An alleged hit-and-run crash seriously injured a motorcyclist along Highway 4 Sunday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on September 15 shortly after 2 p.m. near the Somersville Road on-ramp.
According to the report log, a vehicle struck a blue sport motorcycle for an unknown reason on the eastbound side of Highway 4.
Motorcycle Rider Hit by Car in Antioch Sunday, September 15
Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the rider and the bike down on the right hand shoulder as a result of the crash.
The motorcyclist was immediately taken to the hospital with major injuries. The name and condition of the patient at this time were not available.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that the driver of the car involved did not stop to render aid and fled east on the highway just west of Somersville. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
