Pedestrian Critically Injured in Antioch Crash at Somersville and Buchanan Roads
ANTIOCH, CA (January 18, 2022) – A crash left a pedestrian critically injured at Somersville Road and Buchanan Road in Antioch.
According to an article published by the East County Today, the accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 4:18 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Antioch near the city of Pittsburg border. The driver hit him at the intersection of Somersville and Buchanan roads.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the man down on the ground. He sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance then took the victim to a hospital and listed him in critical condition. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party.
Meanwhile, officers did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the man. Officials forced the area of Somersville and Buchanan roads to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Antioch pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
