Antonio Huerta Killed Hit-and-run Bicycle Accident in Fountain Valley

Suspect Sought in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Slater Avenue

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. (May 16, 2024) — Antonio Huerta, 52, died Monday one day after a hit-and-run driver struck the bicycle rider at Slater Avenue and Santa Maria Street in Fountain Valley.

The bicycle accident occurred at around 7:05 a.m. on May 12th, according to the Orange County Register.

An eastbound driver reportedly veered into a bicycle lane on Slater Avenue on Mother’s Day in Fountain Valley, the report said. The suspect struck the bicyclist and fled the scene without stopping to help him, police said.

Paramedics responded and rushed the 52-year-old Huntington Beach man to a hospital, but he died the following day on Monday, May 13th, authorities said. The Orange County Sheriff Coroner later identified him as Antonio Huerta.
