Duarte Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash
IRWINDALE, Calif. (August 21, 2023) – Antonio Macias, 25, of Duarte, died in a motorcycle accident involving a car at Arrow Highway and Morada Street in Irwindale.
The deadly crash occurred around 7:10 p.m. on Friday, August 18th, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
Irwindale police deputies responded to the scene and located the motorcyclist, his black 2021 Honda Rebel bike and a driver in a 2014 Honda Civic, according to MyNewsLA.
Motorcyclist Killed in Car Accident
Investigators working on the case believe the driver in the Honda Civic made a left-hand turn from Moraga Street onto Arrow Highway in front of the motorcyclist.
The rider was traveling westbound on Arrow Highway and was unable to avoid hitting the car when it drove into his path. The two vehicles collided at the intersection, police said.
One witness called 911 to request paramedics and police.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department sent paramedics, but the motorcyclist identified as Antonio Macias was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the car stopped and cooperated with police. Authorities are investigating whether or not alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
Also, police temporarily closed down all traffic lanes of Arrow Highway between Anyon and Vincent avenues.
