Man, 38, Killed in Talmadge Crash
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (May 31, 2023) — Antonio Mateo Antonio, 38, of San Diego, died in a pedestrian accident on El Cajon Boulevard in the Talmadge neighborhood of San Diego.
The deadly crash occurred around 9:24 p.m. on Thursday, May 25th, according to the San Diego Police Department.
A 24-year-old woman was driving westbound in a 2016 Honda Civic when she struck the 38-year-old man crossing the road in front of 5050 El Cajon Blvd, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
Several bystanders tried to stop traffic after the initial collision, but a 22-year-old man driving a westbound 2010 Toyota Corolla didn’t understand their signals and he also ran over the victim in the roadway.
The man suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene around 9:39 p.m., the report said.
The San Diego Police Traffic Division is heading up the investigation. Meanwhile, witnesses or anyone with information about the accident, may call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
