Wildomar Man, 62, Killed in Crash on I-15 Freeway
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (Oct. 19, 2022) — Antonio Mendoza, 62, of Wildomar, died Saturday in a collision with another motorist on the Interstate 15 Freeway, just south of Deer Springs Road in Escondido.
The collision occurred on the northbound I-15 about 2:16 a.m. on Oct. 15th in San Diego County, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The Wildomar man was headed north on the Interstate 15 Freeway when another driver traveling in the same direction rear-ended his vehicle. Antonio Mendoza lost control of his vehicle and it overturned and crashed on top of the center median. Also, the report stated the driver was ejected from his vehicle.
Witnesses called 911 and police responded to the scene with paramedics. They were unable to save the man’s life and he died at the scene about 2:41 a.m.
Finally, the collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
