September 16, 2018 – At least one person was injured in a traffic collision Friday afternoon on Highway 18, according to Victor Valley News.
Multi-Vehicle Accident Friday in Apple Valley
Officials said the multi-vehicle crash involved a 2001 gray Chevy Van, a white 2009 Honda Civic, and a white 2013 Toyota Corolla.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Chevy did not notice traffic in front of him and attempted to stop the last minute. The Chevy then swerved to the left, causing it to lose control and slide sideways on the road. As per the article, the rear passenger side of the Chevy collided into the rear end of the Honda. Then, the impact pushed the Honda to slam into the rear of the Toyota.
Medical records indicated paramedics rendered aid to the Chevy driver, who appeared to have sustained minor injuries in the accident. Furthermore, the driver of the Honda complained of pain to his neck and was transported to St. Mary Medical Center by American Medical Response ambulance.
Meanwhile, the occupants of the Toyota were reportedly unharmed in the wreck.
At this time, the precise circumstances that led to the accident remain under investigation.

A forensic examination of all the vehicles involved, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will be made to help investigators determine the liability in the accident. Other potential factors will be looked into as well including whether or not a driver was under the influence at the time of the accident, whether or not a motorist was distracted, operating the vehicle recklessly, or traveling over the speed limit prior to impact. Each of these factors plus several others will be assessed allowing police officials to draw up a final conclusion.
Pending results of the investigation, the victim(s) may have the right to a personal injury claim. Victims in similar cases are potentially entitled to seek compensation for damages including hospital bills, future medical expenses, and pain and suffering.
