Two Injured in Apple Valley Collision; Woman, 29, Arrested DUI
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (Dec. 16, 2024) — Jessica William, 29, of Apple Valley, was arrested on DUI charges after a crash with another motorist Sunday night on Bear Valley Road.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 7:16 p.m. on December 15th, just west of Deep Creek Road in Apple Valley, according to Victor Valley News Group.
The Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded and located two people with injuries including one who was critically injured and airlifted to a trauma center. The second person had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by a ground ambulance.
Police reported a stalled Chrysler 300 had become disabled in the middle turning lane and was receiving a jump start from a driver in a van.
That’s when an eastbound blue Hyundai Elantra traveling along Bear Valley Road came upon the two vehicles and was unable to stop. The car rear-ended the Chrysler 300.
The owner of the Chrysler, identified as Jessica William, told authorities her husband was getting cables from the trunk and was crushed between the two vehicles.
The man was taken to the hospital and was scheduled for surgery.
Meanwhile, police detained the suspected DUI driver from the Hyundai and identified her as Rebecca Elizabeth Black. She was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for VC 23153(A) DUI Alcohol causing Bodily Injury and is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail. She is scheduled to be arraigned at 8 a.m. on Dec. 17th in a Victorville courtroom.
Finally, the Apple Valley Police Department is heading up the investigation.
