4 Killed, 1 Critically Injured in Apple Valley Head-On Crash on Highway 18
APPLE VALLEY, CA (May 9, 2021) – A car crash on Highway 18 killed several people and critically injured one person in Apple Valley.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the tragic accident occurred on Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck on May 8 at about 8:32 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a white 1994 Chevy Suburban and a 2021 Toyota Tundra collided head-on for an unknown reason.
The two cars crashed on Highway 18 near Sierra Pelona Drive. Both vehicles obtained major damage and came to a rest on the eastbound shoulder upon impact.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and then extricated a trapped party from the wreckage. The rescued individual sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance took the patient to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment. Meanwhile, the three occupants of the Chevy and one person riding the Toyota died at the scene.
The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released. Officials soon forced the highway to close in both directions for several hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Apple Valley crash is still under investigation.
