Man Riding Bicycle Critically Injured in Hit-and-run Crash
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (Nov. 22, 2024) — A man riding a bicycle was critically injured in a hit-and-run traffic accident Thursday night on Outer Highway 18 in Apple Valley.
The collision occurred at about 6:00 pm, on November 21st, just west of Tao Road and near the Desert Knolls Center, according to Victor Valley News Group.
The Apple Valley Fire Protection District sent paramedics to the scene and located the male cyclist down in traffic lanes and the bicycle broken in half, the report said.
Firefighters treated the victim on scene and transported him to nearby St. Mary’s Medical Center where a Reach helicopter landed to take the man to an out-of-area trauma center.
The Apple Valley Police Department is heading up the investigation into the hit-and-run collision and asking the public to call them at 760-240-7400.
