APPLE VALLEY (July 12, 2016)- According to the Daily Press, a deadly collision resulted in the death of a man and injuries to a woman Tuesday morning on the southbound Interstate 15 freeway at the Dale Evans Parkway off-ramp.
At 6:12 a.m., Jason Hadley, 40, of Apple Valley, was driving a Toyota Prius and had legally pulled over to change his tire on the right-hand shoulder. As he was changing his tire, the man was struck by a passing Dodge Dart driven by Anthony Maracle, 33, of San Bernardino.
Jason Hadley tragically suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene as his vehicle was sent into the No. 3 lane across traffic.
It remains unclear why Maracle allowed his vehicle to veer off to the right side of the road. He was two passengers accompanied by him including Yolanda Perez, 37, and Francisco Contreras, 19.
Perez suffered serious injuries requiring an airship to land at the scene and fly her to Antelope Valley Hospital.
Maracle sustained minor injuries while Contreras was uninjured.
Traffic lanes were shut down for a few hours while the wreckage was removed from the scene.
CHP officials with the Victorville bureau do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
