Woman Killed, 4 Injured Victorville Crash Village Drive
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2019) — April Evett, 36, of Lucerne Valley, died and one person was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries following a two-vehicle collision Thursday night at Village Drive at Eto Camino Road in Victorville, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
The collision took place about 5:55 p.m. on Jan. 10th. Evett was driving a white 2008 Kia Optima. Her vehicle and a silver 2005 Yukon GMC SUV both suffered major front-end damage in the collision. Police stated that the white Kia Optima was driving westbound on Eto Camino Road and the silver GMC Yukon was driving north on Village Drive. Evett’s Kia allegedly crossed the northbound lanes of Village Drive and moved into the path of the oncoming GMC. The GMC collided with the driver side of the Kia.
Evett was pronounced dead by San Bernardino County Fire at the scene at 6:06 p.m. Meanwhile, the man and three children who were in the SUV were hurt including one who was taken by air ambulance to a trauma center. The other three in the SUV suffered minor to moderate injuries. At least two of the injured were children.
The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
