Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Accident at Aptos Creek Road and Soquel Drive
APTOS, CA (April 4, 2021) – A bicycle rider was seriously injured after an accident at Aptos Creek Road and Soquel Drive.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the incident on Sunday night. Officers reported the crash shortly after 8 p.m. in Aptos.
According to their dispatch team, a white Volkswagen Jetta struck a male bicycle rider. The car hit him at the intersection of Aptos Creek Road and Soquel Drive.
Bicyclist Hit by Car in Aptos
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene near the Aptos Village County Park. They found the bicyclist who suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the cyclist to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Jetta stopped after colliding with the bicycle. They forced the road to shut down following the crash.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the collision.
