Bicycle Rider Injured in Aptos Crash on Center Avenue Near Mexican Restaurant
APTOS, CA (August 15, 2021) – A bicycle rider was injured after a crash on Center Avenue near a Mexican restaurant in Aptos.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team received a received a call about the accident on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the incident on August 13 at about 5:07 p.m.
According to CHP, a gold Toyota 4Runner struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in Aptos. The two collided at 253 Center Avenue.
Bicyclist Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene in front of the Manuel’s Mexican Restaurant. They found the bicyclist hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the cyclist for minor injuries they sustained in the accident. Officials did not release the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the rider. Officers forced a stretch of Center Avenue to shut down following the bicycle collision.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Aptos crash.
