Bicycle Rider Injured in Crash on Soquel Drive in Aptos
APTOS, Calif. (Dec. 13, 2021) — Dan Fuentes injured in Aptos bicycle accident Monday on Soquel Drive at Ledyard Way near the Aptos Branch Library.
The collision happened about 10:05 a.m. on Dec. 13th at 7695 Soquel Drive in front of the Resurrection Catholic Church, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Aptos Bicycle Accident on Soquel Drive
A driver in a silver Toyota Prius reportedly kept driving after hitting the bicycle rider, according to a witness who called 911.
The witness named Miguel in a blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck pulled over and stopped to help. The Prius reportedly drove off at speeds estimated to be 55 mph, the report said.
Paramedics transported the bicyclist identified as Dan Fuentes to a hospital for treatment of major injuries following the Aptos bicycle accident.
Meanwhile, it appears that police located the suspect’s vehicle with a smashed windshield as its owners requested a tow truck.
Also, the roadway reopened to traffic about 10:31 a.m. Investigators seek to determine fault for the crash and whether any charges will be made.
