Driver Injured After Crash on Highway 1 Wednesday
Aptos, CA (September 30, 2020) – One person suffered an injury following a car accident on Highway 1 in Aptos Wednesday afternoon.

According to an article published by KION News Channel, a 76-year-old Moss Landing man was behind the wheel of a vehicle traveling north on Highway 1. For reasons still unclear, the vehicle veered off the roadway and rolled over into trees and fencing along the freeway.
Emergency personnel rushed to the crash site, just north of State Park Drive, and found a male party trapped in the wreckage. Responding firefighters extricated the man, and checked him for physical injuries. Our sources indicated the male party suffered moderate injuries as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim, and their condition at this time remained undisclosed.
The California Highway Patrol reportedly closed the northbound lanes of Highway 1 to give way to the investigation process. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work to determine whether another vehicle played a role in the car accident in Aptos.
