Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision on Valley West Boulevard
Arcata, CA (October 26, 2022) – A pedestrian died following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on Valley West Boulevard.
According to KRCR News, the Arcata Police Department received calls reporting about a person lying on the ground; in the 500 block of Valley West Boulevard.
Pedestrian Dies in Arcata Accident
Emergency crews responded to the accident scene shortly after 5:53 p.m. Medical personnel immediately rendered aid to the victim found with injuries. The article published online mentioned paramedics rushed the injured pedestrian to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Despite life-saving measures performed by doctors, the victim sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
The Arcata Police Department confirmed the driver involved in the horrible crash fled the scene. Information on the hit-and-run suspect have not been revealed thus far.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led to the deadly accident on Valley West Boulevard in Arcata.
