Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-run Crash on 5 Freeway in Arleta
ARLETA, Calif. (Nov. 23, 2020) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run Arleta pedestrian accident early Monday on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway.
The fatal crash took place about 5 a.m. on Nov. 23rd on the freeway. The incident happened at the Terra Bella Street on ramp to the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. Witnesses told authorities the man was pushing a wheelchair prior to the collision.

Next, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded with paramedics to the scene. They located the man who was badly injured and sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver involved fled the scene without stopping to help the victim. There was no immediate description of the vehicle or driver.
Police issued a SigAlert due to traffic piling up. Multiple lanes of the southbound 5 Freeway were closed as well as the Terra Bella on ramp. An investigation will be conducted.
