ACTON, California (May 9, 2016) — Arlington Brooks, 66, of Reseda was killed in a motorcycle crash with a suspected drunken, hit-and-run driver Saturday afternoon on Soledad Canyon Road, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The fatal motorcycle crash took place about 5:45 p.m., just west of Aliso Canyon Road.
Police say Arlington Brooks was riding his 2012 Harley Davidson in the westbound lanes of Soledad Canyon Road when he veered into opposing traffic and collided head-on with an eastbound 2015 GMC Sierra SUV. The rider was thrown off the bike and died of his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the GMC Sierra Bradley Russell McLeod, 56, of Palmdale fled the scene, but the vehicle broke down just a half mile away and he was apprehended by police and charged with DUI. McLeod was also taken to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
We offer our warmest of thoughts, our prayers, and condolences to the family members of the victim as they search for peace and comfort.
