Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Collision on SR-43
Kings County, CA (December 19, 2022) – Armando Banuelos, a 72-year-old man, suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route Highway 43 Monday morning.
According to Your Central Valley News, two vehicles collided head-on on SR-43. Preliminary investigation revealed Banuelos was behind the wheel of a car traveling south on the highway in Hanford. When Banuelos approached the area near Fargo Avenue, a northbound car veered into his path leading to the head-on crash. The make and model of the cars involved in the catastrophic incident have not been revealed thus far.
Emergency crews arrived at the crash site shortly after 5:15 a.m. First responders found the wrong-way driver unconscious. Despite life-saving efforts performed by paramedics, the woman sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the scene. Authorities only identified the deceased as a 45-year-old female.

Meanwhile, officials mentioned the other driver, Armando Banuelos, sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. An ambulance transported the injured man to CRMC for further treatment.
Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on State Route 43 in Kings County.
