Armando Moreno-Rodriguez, 25, Suspect in Sacramento Fatal DUI Crash
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 25, 2021) – Authorities identified Armando Moreno-Rodriguez as the suspect in a Sacramento fatal DUI crash which occurred last month.
Police determined that the 25-year-old man was under the influence of alcohol when he hit a bicyclist on June 29.
The incident began when Armando Moreno-Rodriguez went around the trail gates and onto the bike path in Sacramento. He drove just off of Tribute Road at the time.
Police said he struck 76-year-old Michael Dodson who was riding a bike on the north side of the American River Parkway. The Sacramento man sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the bicyclist down on the ground. The Sacramento Bee and CBS Sacramento wrote that the crash took place shortly after 9 a.m.
They rushed the bike rider to a hospital, where he died on July 23. Meanwhile, police soon arrested and booked the driver at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
They took him into custody at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center in Elk Grove. Armando Moreno-Rodriguez faces charges of hit-and-run and driving under the influence of alcohol.
His charges include DUI causing injury or death and driving on a suspended or revoked license. Records showed that he is ineligible for bail.
The Sacramento DUI crash is still under investigation.
