Armen Basmadzhyan, 29, Killed in Griffith Park Car Accident
LOS ANGELES (December 23, 2018) – A man was killed after a traffic collision along the 5 Freeway in Griffith Park on Saturday evening, according to KTLA.
The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Armen Basmadzhyan, of Glendale.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol Basmadzhyan was driving a 2009 Honda Civic in the right-hand lane of the northbound 5 Freeway when he was hit from behind by a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C 300.
The Honda was then forced into a 2006 Toyota Tundra pickup truck that was stopped in front of Basmadzhyan. The Toyota was also pushed into the back of a stopped 2017 Nissan 370Z.
Car Accident on 5 Freeway at Colorado Street
Paramedics responded to the area and pronounced Basmadzhyan dead at the scene. The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. at the Colorado Street exit.
Two men inside the Nissan sustained minor injuries. Their names and condition were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz did not stop after the crash and took off. The suspect, a 22-year-old Glendale man, was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run.
