Arnie Espiritu Victim Bellflower Crash 91 Freeway at Bixby Avenue
BELLFLOWER, Calif. (December 28, 2020) – Arnie Espiritu, 49, of San Pedro, died Sunday when her vehicle was rear ended by another motorist on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Bellflower.
The crash took place at 6:50 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 27th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, just east of Bellflower Boulevard, the CHP reported.
Arnie Espiritu was driving a Toyota Sienna when she came to a stop in traffic lanes for an unknown reason. A 34-year-old man driving a Toyota Solara minivan crashed into the back of the Toyota.
Meanwhile, Arnie Espiritu suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Saul Solorzano, 34, of Azusa, who was driving the Toyota Solara suffered minor injuries including chest pain and an injured right ankle. Police stated that both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Additionally, police do not suspect alcohol and/or drugs were contributing factors to the crash.
Finally, the CHP’s Santa Fe Springs office is asking witnesses to call them at 562-868-0503.
