Motorcyclist Killed in Arroyo Grande Crash on Lopez Drive
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (September 4, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed after a crash on Lopez Drive in Arroyo Grande.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the tragic accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 8 p.m.
CHP said a Kia Optima and the rider of a Harley Davidson motorcycle collided for an unknown reason. The two crashed on Lopez Drive in Arroyo Grande.
Motorcycle Rider and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Lopez Lake Dam. They found the motorcyclist who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then confirmed that the victim died. The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stopped after the wreck. Officers forced a stretch of Lopez Drive to shut down for a time following the collision.
The cause of the fatal Arroyo Grande crash is still under investigation.
