Woman Injured in Arroyo Grande Hit-and-Run on Halcyon Road Near Elementary School
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (October 19, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on Halcyon Road near an elementary school in Arroyo Grande.
According to an article published by the KSBY News, the accident took place on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the collision shortly after 8 a.m.
The incident happened when a female pedestrian was leading two children across Halcyon Road in Arroyo Grande. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck the woman in the crosswalk.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene near the Harloe Elementary School. They found the victim who sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Pedestrian Hit by DUI Driver
Medical personnel then took the patient to the hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and her condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the male driver tried to flee the area but officers located him. They soon arrested him and determined that he was under the influence of drugs when he hit the victim.
Officers charged him with felony DUI with injury and a felony hit-and-run with injury. The Arroyo Grande DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Police forced a stretch of Halcyon Road to shut down following the collision.
