Motorcyclist Killed in Arvin Crash Near Weedpatch Highway and Bear Mountain
ARVIN, CA (August 19, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed after a crash near Weedpatch Highway and Bear Mountain Boulevard in Arvin.
According to the Kern Golden Empire and Bakersfield Now, the tragic accident occurred on Thursday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 8:45 p.m. near Lamont.
The California Highway Patrol said the rider of a black Suzuki dirt bike and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in Arvin.
Reckless Driver Hits Motorcycle Rider
The two crashed near the intersection of Weedpatch Highway and Bear Mountain Boulevard. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel confirmed that the motorcycle rider died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, a CHP dispatch mentioned that the other motorist was driving recklessly before hitting the motorcyclist. The report added that the reckless driver did not stop to render aid and fled.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Weedpatch Highway and Bear Mountain Boulevard to shut down for nearly two hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Arvin crash is still under investigation.
