Authorities reported the incident at 3:51 a.m. when a pedestrian was struck by a tractor-trailer.
The victim who has been identified as a man from San Bernardino, Michael Vanderdoes, 44, did not survive the impact from the collision as he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigations say that Vanderdoes had been walking along the right-hand shoulder before being hit.
Investigators have ruled out the possibility that drugs or alcohol could have been involved.
More information will be released pending the investigation.
