6 Killed, 8 Injured in Windsor Hills Crash on La Brea and Slauson Avenues Pregnant Woman Among Six Killed in Fiery Crash

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 5, 2022) — Asherey Ryan, 23, her infant son and her unborn baby, were among six people to die following a multi-vehicle crash at La Brea Avenue and Slauson Avenue Thursday next to a gas station.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified the pregnant woman and her baby boy on its website as two of the six killed in the crash in the unincorporated Windsor Hills area.

Eight others were injured in the wreck when a driver in a Mercedes Benz sped through a red light and collided with five other motorists.

The crash occurred about 1:40 p.m. on August 4th, according to the Los Angeles Times.

6-Vehicle Crash at Windsor Hills Intersection

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the crash scene just east of Ladera Park. It appears that six vehicles were involved in the collision after a 40-year-old woman reportedly sped through the intersection and collided with cross traffic. The driver was traveling southbound on La Brea Avenue and initially struck a car traveling on Slauson Avenue, causing both vehicles to hit others and crashed into a gas station sign. At least three of the cars caught on fire following the wreck. Asherey Ryan, her unborn son and four others all reportedly died at the scene.

The LACFD rushed eight people including six teenagers with injuries to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The woman who allegedly caused the crash suffered major injuries and the California Highway Patrol stated she is a travel nurse.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office will likely file multiple criminal charges against the woman who caused the crash.

Investigators continue to work on the case.
