Baby in Stroller Injured in San Rafael DUI Hit-and-Run on Fifth Avenue
SAN RAFAEL (February 7, 2020) – An alleged DUI hit-and-run driver injured a baby in a stroller along Fifth Avenue on Friday morning.
Police determined that 28-year-old Ashley Bowman was driving under the influence of marijuana when the accident involving a pedestrian took place.
The incident began when Bowman was driving a gray Honda Civic at the same time a 19-year-old San Rafael woman was pushing her 9-month-old brother in a stroller through the crosswalk.
Officers said Bowman then made a left turn onto Fifth Avenue, allegedly failed to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk and struck the stroller.
