Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision at Riverside Avenue and Valley Boulevard
Rialto, CA (August 2, 2022) – Ashley Gilroy, and two others died following a car accident that occurred in the area of Riverside Avenue and Valley Boulevard.
The KTLA News reported eight vehicles collided at the busy intersection in Rialto on August 1, Monday.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Jeep Cherokee was seen traveling in the area at a high-rate of speed. When the Cherokee approached the crossing at Riverside and Valley, the driver failed to slow down and slammed into the rear of two vehicles. The force from the impact led to a chain-reaction collision. Per local news source, the crash left at least two cars fully engulfed in flames.
At Least 3 Killed in Rialto Car Accident
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics reportedly found three people lifeless, and several others suffering in injuries. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department identified one of the fatal victims as 33-year-old Ashley Gilroy, of Highland.
Authorities briefly identified another deceased person as an 8-year-old girl.
Several factors surrounding the horrible crash remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the deadly accident happened at Riverside Avenue and Valley Boulevard.
