Ashley Kay, 21; and Man Killed in Car Accident on Wildcat Canyon Road
LAKESIDE (September 27, 2018) – Two were killed and one was seriously injured after a traffic collision on Wildcat Canyon Road Thursday morning, according to NBC San Diego and CBS 8.
The accident was reported at about 6:30 a.m., just north of Willow Road.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said a Honda Accord was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed south on Wildcat Canyon Road when at the same time a Porsche SUV was going north.
The Honda swerved to the outside curb of the road and its driver then apparently over-corrected. The Accord went into the path of the Porsche, causing the two to ultimately collide head-on.
Woman, 43, Seriously Injured in Wildcat Canyon Crash
CHP affirmed that the Honda was split in half upon impact, and its two occupants were ejected in the process despite wearing their seat belts. A 53-year-old El Cajon man died at the scene while a 21-year-old El Cajon woman was flown to Sharp Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
One of the deceased parties have been identified as Ashley Kay.
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old Santee woman driving the SUV was rushed to Sharp Memorial to be treated for major injuries. Her name and condition at this time remained unknown.
