Ashley Nauta, 29, Suspect in Stockton Fatal DUI Crash at Harding and Pershing
STOCKTON, CA (May 31, 2021) – Authorities detained Ashley Nauta after a fatal DUI crash at Harding Way and Pershing Avenue in Stockton.
Police determined that the 29-year-old suspect was under the influence when the accident occurred on Sunday night.
The incident happened on May 30 when Ashley Nauta slammed their car into another vehicle in the Civic District in Stockton. The two crashed at the intersection of Harding Way and Pershing Avenue.
1 Killed in Car Collision Sunday
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the male driver of the other car severely hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed him to a hospital where he died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
ABC 10 News and CBS Sacramento wrote that the wreck took place at around 10:30 p.m. Meanwhile, police affirmed that Ashley Nauta ended up unharmed following the Stockton crash.
Authorities soon arrested the suspect for DUI. They forced the intersection of Harding and Pershing to shut down for a time following the wreck. The collision is still under investigation.
