Astha Rajyaguru, 22, ID’d as Suspect in Poway Fatal DUI Crash on Midland Road
POWAY, CA (March 26, 2022) – Authorities detained Astha Rajyaguru after a fatal DUI crash on Midland Road in Poway.
Deputies determined that the 22-year-old man was under the influence when he killed a motorcyclist on Friday night.
The incident began when Astha Rajyaguru was driving a sedan north on Midland Road in the city of Poway. At the same time, a 59-year-old man parked his motorcycle along the right side of the road.
He then struck the rear of the motorcycle. Officers said the two crashed in the 13800 block of Midland, just north of the intersection with Somerset Road.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the victim down on the ground. He ended up suffering from serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel pronounced the rider dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
The San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News wrote that the accident took place on March 25 at about 10:34 p.m.
Meanwhile, officers soon arrested Astha Rajyaguru on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter. They booked him at the Las Colinas Detention Facility.
