2 Children Injured in Atwater Pedestrian Crash at First and Fortuna
ATWATER, CA (March 2, 2023) – Two children were hospitalized after a pedestrian crash at First Street and Fortuna Avenue in Atwater.
The Tribune and ABC 30 News wrote that the collision took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the accident on March 1 at around 7 p.m.
The incident happened when the two girls were crossing First Street at the intersection of Fortuna Avenue in the city. At the same time, a car was going south.
Atwater police said for an unknown reason, the vehicle struck the pedestrian victims. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found both children hurt.
Girls Hit by Car
The patients sustained minor to moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the two girls to a hospital for treatment.
The reports did not disclose the condition of the wounded parties at this time. Meanwhile, police added that the driver stopped and stayed at the site following the accident.
Officers forced the area of First Street and Fortuna Avenue to shut down after the incident. The cause of the Atwater pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
