Pedestrian Killed in Atwater Hit-and-Run at Winton Way and Fay Drive
ATWATER, CA (January 19, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash at Winton Way and Fay Drive in Atwater.
According to an article published by Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 6:48 p.m.
Atwater police said two vehicles struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city. They hit her at the intersection of Winton Way and Fay Drive.
Woman Hit by Cars
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the woman left lying on the ground. She sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that one driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the woman. The other motorist did not stop and fled the area.
Officers described the car as a Ford pickup truck. Police forced the corner of Winton Way and Fay Drive to shut down for a time following the collision.
The cause of the fatal Atwater hit-and-run crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at (209) 357-6384.
