Audrey Barba, 18; and Antoine Kendrick, 49, Killed in Sylmar Car Accident
SYLMAR (December 30, 2018) – A young woman killed after an alleged wrong-way crash on the 5 Freeway and 14 Freeway transition early Friday has been identified as Audrey Barba, according to NBC Los Angeles.
The 18-year-old Palmdale woman was a victim of the collision which occurred at around 3:25 a.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway connector ramp to the northbound 14 Freeway.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 1998 Honda Accord was traveling south in the northbound fast lane of the freeway transition when it collided head-on with a 2017 Ford Mustang.
The force of the collision caused the Mustang to hit a 2001 Chevrolet.
2 Injured in Car Crash on 5 Freeway and 14 Freeway
CHP affirmed that Barba, a passenger in the Ford, was immediately transported to a hospital where was later pronounce dead.
The drivers of both the Mustang and the Chevrolet were hospitalized with major injuries and minor wounds , respectively.
Meanwhile, the two men in the Accord also died at the scene. One of them has been named as 49-year-old Antoine Kendrick.
Authorities believed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident which remains under investigation.
