The collision involving two vehicles occurred around 8:30 p.m.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said Aurora Alcantar was driving south on Road 56 making a left turn onto Avenue 408 when her 2013 Kia was hit by a 2001 GMC who attempted to pass her.
Alcantar, of Dinuba, suffered major internal injuries and was then taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment. Her condition at this time was not disclosed.
A juvenile riding in the Kia was unharmed.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the GMC is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol when the accident took place. That motorist allegedly stole the vehicle
The two people riding the GMC at the time fled the scene in a separate car.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
