Pedestrian Killed on 105 Freeway is Identified

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 29, 2024) – Austin Brooks, 30, died in a pedestrian accident on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway near the West Athens in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim who died early Thursday, Jan. 25th at the scene of the collision.

The collision occurred at around 2:11 a.m. when a westbound driver struck Austin Brooks as he was walking near the Vermont Avenue exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Police officers and paramedics responded. but they were unable to revive the victim. It’s unknown if the driver involved stopped.

CHP officials issued a SigAlert and closed down two of the westbound traffic lanes on the freeway for roughly two hours to investigate the circumstances.
