Austin Wong, 20, ID’d as Suspect in Fatal Pasadena Pedestrian Crash
PASADENA, CA (December 10, 2021) – Authorities detained Austin Wong after a crash that killed a pedestrian in Pasadena.
Police identified the 20-year-old Pasadena man as the suspect in the fatal collision which took place late last month.
The incident began when Austin Wong was driving a 2007 BMW 328i on Allen Avenue over the speed limit in the city of Pasadena.

At the same time, a male pedestrian was jogging on the south sidewalk of San Pasqual Street. Police said Austin Wong then ran a stop sign at the intersection and struck the woman in the crosswalk.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found her down on the ground. The victim, 33-year-old Pasadena resident Yang Yang Liu, died at the scene.
The Pasadena Star News and My News LA wrote that the accident occurred at around 11:20 a.m. Meanwhile, police arrested Austin Wong at his home on Friday without incident.
They soon booked him into the Pasadena Police Department jail on felony vehicular manslaughter in lieu of a $50,000 bail. The Pasadena pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
