
Fresno County, Calif. (December 12, 2022) – Ray Rodarte, 24, of Del Rey, Ayala Gonzales, 24, of Fresno, both died in a traffic accident involving a semi-truck at East North and DeWolf Avenue.
The deadly crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the Fresno intersection, the Fresno Bee said.
Ray Rodarte was driving a Nissan Altima and Ayala Gonzales was his passenger. The car was traveling north on DeWolf Avenue when it came to a stop at the intersection with North Avenue.
Meanwhile, a driver in a 2019 Freightliner was heading eastbound on East North Avenue. Officials said the driver of the Altima accelerated into the intersection in front of the Freightliner and was hit by the oncoming semi-truck.
Deadly Traffic Accident in Fresno County
Paramedics responded and located both the driver and passenger from the Altima unconscious. Despite life-saving efforts, the man and woman both died at the scene. The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner identified them today.
Additionally, the driver of the Freightliner did not report any injuries following the collision.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash.
