It’s unknown what led to the collision, but an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Orange County Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision to determine fault. At this time, it appears that the pedestrian was hurt. Pedestrians have the right-of-way and drivers are required to yield to them. Even if a pedestrian is not in a marked crosswalk, a driver must do everything they can to avoid a collision.
Indeed, the location of this collision near the busy DMV is often the site of injury crashes. As we head into the Memorial Day weekend, we have found that drivers are speeding, driving recklessly and not paying attention to other motorists.
