Child Seriously Injured in Baker Crash on Interstate 15 Freeway Near Airmail

BAKER, CA (November 21, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on the Interstate 15 Freeway in Baker.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place early Sunday. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 1:06 a.m.

The incident happened when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Baker. They crashed on the southbound side of the Interstate 15 Freeway near the Airmail Navigation Arrow.

2 Cars Collide

CHP described the cars as a gray Toyota Highlander and a white Nissan Altima. The Toyota rolled over and came to a stop on its roof while the Nissan obtained major front-end damage.

A child became ejected from a vehicle as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the juvenile 210 feet from the car

.An air ambulance then took the young patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The report did not release the condition of the wounded party at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 15 Freeway to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the Baker crash is still under investigation.
