BAKER, California (March 27, 2015) — Wayne Edward Haverfield, 48, of Las Vegas was killed Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident on the Interstate 15 Freeway, according to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
About 3:49 p.m., CHP officers say Haverfield was driving a 2009 Ford F-250 pickup truck southbound on the Interstate 15 when he collided with the driver of a 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck. Haverfield lost control of the Ford pickup upon impact and was ejected out of the vehicle. He died at the scene of the crash.
Police are heading up an investigation into the accident to determine liability. It’s unclear from the initial report which driver is liable for the crash.
“This is a tragedy for this man’s family as they try and piece together how this could have happened,” said Attorney James Johnson. “My prayers are with them at this difficult time.”
